Good day all. I purchased the Hand Gun Basics class for myself, my wife, my son (17 yrs) and my daughter (14 yrs). I also purchased the ear muffs and glasses for the range at a discount with the class which was sweet. Ryan, the instructor, was about the most enjoyable and relatable instructor one could hope for. He presented the information in a fun yet serious way and engaged the whole time with the class. When we went out to the range, he and another Range Safety Officer, observed, instructed and assisted each student as needed. Safety was number one. I was concerned my wife and daughter might have issues on the range (forgive me for how that sounds but it is true); however, I ought not to have been because Ryan was diligent in assisting everyone as necessary. I can't say enough how thrilled we were to have been on the range and knowing how to safely fire a semi automatic. Especially my wife and son. My daughter, well, not quite her thing but she loved the experience. Our next goal: buy hand guns that fit the family and visit the range to dial in our accuracy then take the Concealed Carry course. Thanks Range USA.
Great experience at Range USA taking our enhanced conceal carry class. The instructor was very knowledgeable and thorough in teaching the required State curriculum. The instructor fostered individual and group discussions on various scenarios relevant to the material being presented. The classroom was modern and provided a great setting for learning.
Very knowledgeable, professional and friendly staff. Good selection for a store their size. Ammo prices are just ok. Range is very nice for pistols, not much more you could ask for in an indoor range. They do get busy at times, but hard to fault the business for that.
I called Range USA prior to transferring my gun to inquire about their gun transfer fees. When I called and spoke to an employee on the phone he said the transfer was $30 and if I signed up for their monthly range membership plan, there would be no charge for the transfer. I said great, that is a reasonable price and I had never been there before so I will plan on checking out the place when I pick up my gun. When I got there, the guy charges me $75! When I ask why it was so much, I was told it was $30 on the phone. He said I don't know who you talked to, but it is $75 plus $10 background check. He then mentioned that another Knoxville gun store that charges $30. Why would anyone pay 2.5 times the normal transfer fee, it's just a transfer, nothing special? $30+/- is the going rate, so why do you charge $75? No real answer there. At that point I had no choice, I was forced to pay the absorbent transfer fee as my gun was shipped there and I had no option to take it anywhere else. Shortly after I left, I called and spoke to the store manager "Tyler" and explained to him what had happened. He offered no resolution and could care less if I liked it or not. I will never set foot in that place again as they charge outrageous fees and don't give two flips about their customers or customer service..
*UPDATE* Asked me to contact them so they can resolve the issue and still no word from Range USA..
8.28.23 Visiting from CT and friends wanted to shoot, so I joined them. Huge parking area, we had to sign in, give our drivers license number, etc. We used our friends gun and had a good time. Staff was friendly and polite.
I went to purchase Sig Sauer 9mm self defense ammo today on their blue dot special. They have 115gr and 124gr together under the same dots. I carefully looked through the ammo for any different price slips to find none. I grabbed one and an associate asked me if I needed help and told him yes and pointed that I wanted the 124gr that was under the bottom of stacks. He helped me and we went to go check out. I went to grab two G17 magazines that I set on other counter and came back to his counter. Upon return he already rung up the ammo and told me there is a price difference. I asked can me match the price being that it is in the same place as the 115gr. We both walked back over to the ammo double check to make sure they were not missed placed. There is no price placement for the 124gr and it was with the 115gr. The associate told me he couldn’t override the price so I asked to speak to a manager. Collin K came over and spoke with the associate and then checked them price tag to also find there was no price tag and they are also being sold under the blue dot special. I asked being that they are with the other ammo mixed in will they honor the price tag that is there. Collin told me no because they were misplaced. So I asked then where are they on the shelf and his response was that there is no price tag for them and they must have put them out with the others. So asked again will they honor the price tag being the store made the mistake not me. He said he would not so my son and I left without purchasing anything. As we were leaving he went back to the associate and started mocking me so I turned around to get his name and asked was store manager present and he said no. I confirmed the store manager is still Sabrina he said yes and I turn and left. Needless to say I’m going to spend my money with people that will standby their word and not mock the customer.
My husband and myself Brought our Daughter in to help her pick out and purchase a gun for her 21st birthday. After picking out a gun with her dads advice she was told the gun had to be in her dads name but it could be her gun. After requesting several times for gun to be in her own name as she is now 21, she was told no it had to be in her dads name. Sales manager then told us that because her dad picked it out he had to have it in his name (even though they literally picked it out together). She had brought her dad in for advice because this was her very fist gun purchase! She had her ID, she was going to pay for it, and she was going to fill out application. But they continued to refuse to put it her name. Why would it be okay for them to tell her “ it must be in your dads name but you can say it’s yours” We want to do it the right way and have her fill out the forms, pay and have it in her own name!! We will not lie about gun ownership , I will take my business elsewhere. Obviously this employee doesn’t understand the “Don’t Lie Law”. We have purchased several firearms here and so we thought it would be the perfect place for her to make her first purchase. We will never purchase from this store again.
**Response to owners bellow my review….Both my husband and myself have been in this store and made several purchases. There was not one reason at all for him the suspect “straw purchase”. That’s insulting, and feels like he may have been looked at like a criminal because of his color. Honest law abiding citizen helping his daughter make her first gun purchase…. That’s what it was!
Friendly and helpful staff. Great selection of items. However, I was very disappointed that they ended the half-price sale on Sig and Hornady defensive ammo earlier than the planned date of 10/25/23. I went there on 10/23 to purchase more ammo and was told that the sale had been stopped. Not good customer service. 😕 …
